Yoga on retreat is like no other. You will get individual attention in a supportive small group setting to help develop you specific goals. Sara provides strategic sequences to fluidly progress the weekend together with more specialized hands on adjustments. The practices accommodate multiple levels of learning and are elongated to deepen your understanding of the concepts presented. Each class is complete with meditation and a long savasana.
Built around a log cabin from the 1800’s and situated on 105 rolling acres, this home will immerse you in nature and make you forget about city living. The property is home to a picturesque farmhouse, pond, red hay barn, horses, and a short drive from historic downtown Galena. Each nook and cranny of the home contains spectacular details like reclaimed wood, Scandinavian design, and artifacts from all over the world. The great room includes a hand carved Yggdrasil (Tree of Life) fireplace as well as a piano in the music room. There are 3 ½ bathrooms that offer retreat goers 3 showers with rain shower heads and two bathtubs.
The property here is immense. A good portion of the land is wooded and rustic walking trails have been carved out for your enjoyment. Relax on the front porch to observe a 360 view of nature. Go for a drift in a tube. Go for a swim. Sunbathe on the deck. You’ve got options! There is the call of the coyotes, the site of grazing deer, the beckoning of hammocks swinging gently in the wind, and a chorus of frogs waiting to greet you at the pond. At night there is a fire pit for smores and storytelling. Come to make memories and relax.
Special Considerations- The location of this home is somewhat remote and therefore wifi is not available and cell reception is spotty/nonexistent, so please prepare. Mostly this affects AT&T customers. Not to worry, there is a landline for emergencies. Also, horses live on the property and dogs have stayed in the past if you have allergies. No pets are currently allowed.
Included in your stay is 7 healthy meals. As much as possible Sara strives for organic seasonal produce and products, although it cannot be guarantee 100% due to availability.
